Dr. Jessicah

Prior to pursuing a career in psychology, I worked in the field of interior design, creating beautiful spaces that reflected the values of my clients. Today, I engage in similar work, although from an entirely different plane. Just as harnessing the power of color, texture, and light in our homes and offices can affect our inner experience of calm and happiness, experiencing a healing of our hearts and minds can profoundly change our life and relationships. As a therapist, I am honored to journey alongside my clients, guiding them toward healing and expansion and creating transformation in both their inner and outer worlds. I enjoy working with adults of all ages, particularly achievement-motivated individuals, creatives, and couples. I also specialize in therapy for therapists, helpers, and healers.

I earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University in 2014 and Doctoral Degree in Counseling Psychology from Ball State University in 2018. I have trained and worked in a number of clinical settings including community mental health centers, educational agencies, medical centers, and in private practice. I was trained as a generalist to treat a variety of mental health concerns – including depression and anxiety – for individuals across the lifespan. Additionally, I have obtained post-graduate training, supervision, and consultation in sexual concerns. Other areas of expertise include grief and loss, life transitions, relationship difficulties, imposter syndrome, work-life balance, compassion fatigue, and couples therapy. I also specialize in EMDR (Eye-Movement, Desensitization, and Reprocessing) to treat trauma, process painful events, and overcome blocks to performing well.

I am trained in a number of theoretical and applied orientations including cognitive-behavioral, humanistic-existential, relational-cultural, internal family systems, psychodynamic, holistic health, emotionally focused couples therapy, and Gottman couples therapy work. Employing a body positive, sex positive, and gender affirming stance, I honor and incorporate multicultural and intersectional realities into the therapeutic work. Drawing from these orientations and using evidence-based practices, I tailor my therapeutic approach to meet the needs and goals of my clients. I am supportive, compassionate, and collaborative, and believe each of us has an intrinsic need for meaning and significance, the capacity for change, and the ability to heal and grow. I emphasize providing clients with a safe space to explore their feelings, discuss their perspectives, problem solve difficulties, and ultimately, experience healing and enduring change.
