Prior to pursuing a career in psychology, I worked in the field of interior design, creating beautiful spaces that reflected the values of my clients. Today, I engage in similar work, although from an entirely different plane. Just as harnessing the power of color, texture, and light in our homes and offices can affect our inner experience of calm and happiness, experiencing a healing of our hearts and minds can profoundly change our life and relationships.
How Do I Approach Therapy?
Offering a holistic and effective approach to your healing and wellbeing, I am a supportive, compassionate, and collaborative therapist who believes each of us has an intrinsic need for meaning and significance, the capacity for change, and the ability to heal and grow. I emphasize providing clients with a safe space to explore their feelings, discuss their perspectives, problem solve difficulties, and ultimately, experience healing and enduring change.

Who Do I Work With?
I enjoy providing therapy to a variety of people including:
-
psychologists and other mental health providers
-
physicians
-
highly successful professionals (such as executives, leaders, academics, attorneys)
-
creatives
-
entrepreneurs
-
highly sensitive people (HSPs) and parents of highly sensitive children (HSCs)
-
couples
-
new moms and dad
-
parents who want to be cycle-breakers
While also providing therapy to individuals who identify outside the binary, I work well with both men and women. I additionally enjoy working with the LGBTQIA+ community and those in traditional and non-traditional relationships (such as poly, open, or ethically non-monogamous).
What Concerns Do I Treat?
Just as I connect well with a variety of people, I also thrive when working with a variety of mental health concerns, including trauma, healing from relational wounds or abuse/neglect in childhood, anxiety, imposter syndrome, perfectionism, work-life balance, relationship difficulties, sexual concerns, compassion fatigue, religious trauma, spiritual crises, healing from challenging or harmful long-term relationships or marriages, high-functioning attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, body image, and perinatal mental health for new moms and dads.
Not every individual or couple I work with meets criteria for a mental health diagnosis; often people pursue therapy to more fully know and understand themselves, to thoughtfully navigate life transitions, or because it seems like the next right thing for their personal and/or relational development. I value working with those who are driven to explore these areas and take intentional steps toward creating a fulfilling and meaningful life.

Of note, I do not treat personality disorders, substance use disorders, or eating disorders as these are not my areas of expertise.

Can I provide online therapy to clients outside of Indiana?

Yes! I am authorized to practice in 40+ states under PsyPact, an interstate compact designed to facilitate the practice of telepsychology across state boundaries (APIT/E. Passport, Mobility #13177). This means I can provide virtual therapy to clients who are, at the time of the appointment, located in any PsyPact participating state. Check out this map to view which states participate in PsyPact.
My Specialty Areas
Anxiety. The genre of anxiety that I work well with is one in which anxiety is the manifestation of a covering up of deep emotional pain. Anxiety is what hovers above the unexcavated site of your suffering. And from that perspective, anxiety serves you so well. It's such a productive distraction from the misery, the self-doubt, and the fears of being too much, not enough, stupid, or weak. Anxiety likely contributes, in part, to making you as successful and endearing as you are. It works hard for you. Yet, the anxiety doesn't solve the problem of your pain. Eventually, its usefulness comes into question as it impacts your sleep, increases your irritability, or reduces your concentration. This is typically when you show up at my office with an inner knowing that you need to dig up what you hoped wouldn't have to be addressed to experience the healing your heart needs so that anxiety doesn't have to drive your life anymore.
Trauma. One of the most meaningful aspects of my work as a therapist is holding space for clients with a trauma history, especially those who had painful or traumatic experiences in childhood. I am honored to be that safe person and to walk alongside my clients as they, at first, gently dip their toes into the pain, and over time, integrate the traumatic responses to experience healing and wholeness. I am trained in EMDR (Eye-Movement, Desensitization, and Reprocessing), which is a powerful tool for helping clients access deeper levels of emotional safety and healing.
Couples. Another passion of mine is working with couples. Specifically, I enjoy providing therapy to couples who deeply love each other yet need some support to navigate communication challenges, parenting difficulties, sexual concerns, and barriers to sustained, emotional intimacy. Another area of interest within
couples/relationship work is working with the LGBTQIA+ community as well as those in poly, open, and consensual/ethical non-monogamy relationships. For those who are not quite sure about where their relationship stands, I additionally work with couples who are discerning whether or not to continue their relationship.

As a therapist, I am honored to journey alongside my clients, guiding them toward healing and expansion and creating transformation in both their inner and outer worlds. I look forward to meeting you and working together.
Summary of Training
I earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University in 2014 and a Doctoral Degree in Counseling Psychology from Ball State University in 2018. I have trained and worked in a number of clinical settings including community mental health centers, educational agencies, medical centers, and in private practice, providing individual, group, and couples therapy and psychological assessment across the lifespan as well as clinical supervision and consultation. Additionally, I have obtained post-graduate training, supervision, and consultation in sexual concerns. I am trained in EMDR (Eye-Movement, Desensitization, and Reprocessing) to treat trauma, process painful events, and overcome blocks to performing well.
Theoretical Orientation
When working with clients, I use a number of theoretical and applied orientations including cognitive-behavioral, humanistic-existential, relational-cultural, internal family systems, attachment-focused, psychodynamic, holistic health, emotionally focused couples therapy (EFT), and the Gottman Method. Employing a body neutral, sex positive, and gender affirming stance, I honor and incorporate multicultural and intersectional realities into the therapeutic work. Drawing from these orientations and using evidence-based practices, I tailor my therapeutic approach to meet the needs and goals of my clients.
